


Obituary of Phyllis Margaret Maynard

Passed peacefully away at James Paton Memorial Regional Health Centre in Gander with her niece Darlene by her side. Phyllis Maynard at the age of 82 years was predeceased by her parents Arthur and Florrie Blandford; husband Victor Maynard; brothers Ernie and Lloyd and sister-in-law Daphne.
Leaving to mourn are her son James Coish (Natasha) and his father Glenn Coish. Two grandchildren, Billie and Carson; brothers Edgar (Daphne) of Winnipeg MB, Warren (Valarie) of Fort McMurray AB, Howard (Barbara) of Laurenceton and Graham of Oshawa ON. sisters Rosalind (Terry) Laurenceton, Sondra (Harry) Gander, Heather (Roger) Mara BC, as well as many nieces, nephews and close friends.
The family would like to thank the staff of Golden Years Estate in Gander for her care during her short stay at the facility. The staff of the dialysis unit at JPMRHC over the last nearly 10 years that she was a patient on the unit. Also, the nursing and physician staff at JPRHC who has cared for her so many times especially over the last few months.
Phyllis was a strong-willed person who despite all her sickness fought to beat, the odds and stay with us on many occasions. She was a cancer survivor and a dialysis patient for nearly 10 years she was a good mom to Jamie, when he married Natasha, she accepted Carson and Billy as her own grandkids and loved them dearly.
She treasured her friends over the years and most recently her new friends at the Golden Years Estate. Her favourite pass time was knitting and crocheting, someone near to her was always the recipient of her handiwork. Phyllis will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Visitation for Phyllis will take place from Families Funeral Home on Tuesday from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Funeral service will be held from the funeral home on Wednesday, January 29th at 1pm.
Following the service cremation will take place with burial to be scheduled later.
Donations may be made in her memory to the Ronald McDonald House.
