We have pleasant memories of chatting with her and your dad over the years.

Catherine (Terry), JoAnne and families, and The Shiwak family,
Our hearts were truly saddened when we got the news that your precious loved one has passed away. Yet, on the other hand we rejoice as we realize that she is no longer in pain but is now in the presence and in the loving arms of Jesus, her Lord and Savior, whom she served for so many years.
Mrs. Shiwak certainly left a wonderful testimony. We were privileged to meet your mom and dad during our HVGB years. A beautiful couple that we enjoyed much fellowship and many laughs with. We have many great memories.
Be assured of our thoughts and prayers today as you lay your precious loved one to rest.

To the entire Shiwak families. Please accept our heartful love and prayers on the passing of Mrs Shiwak. Our family first met Mrs Shiwak when we were stationed in Happy Valley Goose Bay. Along with Mr. Shiwak, they were great role models and for certain the back bone of the Church. We as a family will cherish our memories of Mrs Shiwak. Rest assured that you will be blest with her ever present reminders to you all.

To Catherine and the family,
Our hearts were saddened when we heard of the news of the passing of Mrs Shiwak. She was a lovely lady who played an integral role in the early days of Bethel Pentecostal Tabernacle. She was a champion of the faith and Bethel is what it is today because of the legacy of the Shiwak’s. She has fought the good fight and today we rejoice because she is with her Lord and Saviour. What a Hope it is to know and serve the Lord for the Bible declares “To be absent from the body, is to be present with the Lord”. Trusting today that this blessed hope will provide strength and encouragement to each one of you.
In our thoughts and prayers ,
Pastors Russell and Jennifer Austin

To The Snow & Shiwak families…
We are sorry to hear of Leona's passing.
I always enjoyed visiting with her at Heritage Square when my wife’s mother was a resident there. She was also a good friend of my mother when they lived in Happy Valley so there were lots of memories from Labrador. She would talk about how they would visit the hospital on behalf of the church & pray with people who were sick. Then she would tell me about how she missed her snowshoes… they were still in her house in Goose Bay. On nice days she would say how she would like to be driving again. She was a beautiful lady & I know you will miss her a lot.
Sending sincere condolences & prayers to all the family.

I never got to know my Aunt Leona well but what I did know made me very proud to say I was her niece. She loved the Lord with all her might. She had a gentle heart. She was kind and had so many endearing qualities. Heaven welcomed an angel but she will be greatly missed here on earth by all who knew of her or were affected by her kindness.
