It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Bert Foote, who passed away on Friday, March 28, 2025, at the Lionel Kelland Hospice in Grand Falls-Windsor, surrounded by his loving family.

Bert was predeceased by his parents, William and Frances Foote, his brothers and sisters, and his beloved wife of over 50 years, Rose Foote (Baldwin).

He leaves behind cherished memories with his children: Christine (Randy), Georgina (Len), Norma (Bob), and Shawn (Michelle). He was a proud grandfather to Aaron, Evan, Abby, Alyssa, Lukas, and Mikael, and a loving great-grandfather to Diana. Bert will also be dearly missed by his sister, Ella Foss, as well as his many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Born in Snooks Arm, Bert was no stranger to hard work. As a young man, he spent his days in the lumber woods and fishing alongside his brother. He later built a career working in the mills, working in Tilt Cove as well as in Ramblers and Buchans Mill.

Bert’s legacy is one of dedication, resilience, and love for his family and faith. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

A funeral service will be held at Buchans United Church on Wednesday, April 2nd at 2pm. Visitation at 2pm-4pm and 7-9pm on Tuesday, April 1st. Internment at Buchans Community Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Buchans United Church.
