Obituary of Lillian Pearl Freake

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Lillian (Pearl) Freake (nee Wheeler) who passed peaceful away on March 28th, 2025 in Lewisporte. Pearl was born on March 24, 1937 in Tizzard's Harbour to Blanche and Chesley Wheeler. She lived a life full of love, kindness, and generosity, touching the lives of all who knew her. Leaving to cherish her memory are her husband William Freake; four children, David (Lucy), Shane (Deina), Brent and Janice (Jim) along with grandchildren Alexander, Emily, Sarah, Daniel and Lydia. Pearl will be also be lovingly remembered by a large extended family and a wonderful circle of friends. As a teenager Pearl moved to Lewisporte and quickly became well known through her many years working at Woolfrey's supermarket and People's department store. Her kind heart, generous nature, and beautiful smile brought joy to all who met her. Resting at Families Funeral Home with visitation to take place on Wednesday, April 2nd from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. A private funeral service for family only will be held on Thursday, April 3rd at 11 am at Families Funeral Home with Cremation to follow. We will forever cherish Pearl's love, laughter, and kindness. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew her. The family extends heartfelt thanks to all who have offered love and support during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Matthew's United Church in Lewisporte, as the church played an important role in her faith and life.
