Obituary of Alverta A. Foss

Alverta Foss of Embree passed peacefully away on Sunday, April 6, 2025 at the Lewisporte Health Centre at the age of 79 years. Leaving to cherish her many memories are her daughter Winnie (Rickey) Canning and her son Jimmie (Bernadine) Foss; three precious grandchildren, Stephanie (Robert) Fudge, Jeremy (Kayla) Sharron and Mike (Pamela) Foss. She will be missed by her great-grandchildren, Sadie, Cameron, James, Connor, Casey and Isabella. She wore the biggest smile when the little ones had a visit. Alverta will be fondly remembered by her siblings, Bernice (Erwin) Knopp, Christina Luscombe, June Hanlon, Albert Hillier, Lester (Lily) Hillier and Patricia (Kevin) Jackson. As well as her son-in-law Terry Sharron; brothers and sisters-in law, nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband James, daughters, Teena Parsons and Effie Sharron; son-in-law Stirling; brother Bill; sister-in-law Ida Troake; brother-in-law Albert Foss and her nephew Paul Foss. Visitation will take place on Tuesday from 2-4pm and 7-9pm from Glad Tidings Tabernacle in Embree with funeral service on Wednesday, April 9th at 1pm. Interment will follow at the Community Cemetery in Embree. Donations may be made in her memory to the Community Cemetery Fund.
