Obituary of Scott Clarence Rowsell
Please share a memory of Scott to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Passed peacefully away at James Paton Memorial Regional Health Centre, Gander on April 19, 2025 at the age of 93 years. Scott Clarence Rowsell was born in Embree on July 18, 1931. He was the youngest of nine children born to Allan and Rachel Rowsell.
He will be deeply missed by his surviving family members. In addition to his parents, Scott was predeceased by his wife Hazel and their daughter Wanda and all of his brothers and sisters.
Scott and Hazel were married in August of 1959 and had one child, Wanda in 1963. Unfortunately, she lived to be only 16 months of age. Sadly, their lives would never be the same after Wanda’s passing.
In his lifetime, Scott held a number of jobs from driving a tractor on forest access roads construction, school bus driving and he retired from working as a carpenter/carpenter’s helper in 1995.
Scott served as a church board member at Glad Tidings Tabernacle in Embree for 14 years.
Scott’s home for the last 12 years of his life was at Pleasantview Manor in Lewisporte where he was typically spoiled by their loving and caring staff.
Visitation will be held at Families Funeral Home in Lewisporte on Monday, from 7-9pm. Funeral service will take place from the funeral home on Tuesday, April 22, at 1pm. Interment will follow at the Community Cemetery (Old) in Embree.
Donations may be made in his memory to the Community Cemetery Fund.
