My heart was broken when I heard the devastating news of Derek passing! Myself & Derek were long time friends for many years with a lot of good memories! When I went to Double D Auto for my first time we became instant friends and the rest is history! From myself and Diane are very deep condolences to Hilda and family!

So sad to hear of Derek’s passing. Derek was a great teammate and friend. I have many fond memories of the years playing basketball with Derek on the Lobos in the men’s basketball league, and as competitors in the Lewisporte men’s softball league. More than a great athlete Derek was a gentleman and a very considerate human being. Hopefully all of his family and friends will remember the positive person that Derek was.
