It is with profound sadness and deep love that we announce the peaceful passing of Clive Cuff (age 85) and Kathleen Cuff (age 81) of Lewisporte, who chose to leave this world together - surrounded by love, dignity and grace.
Clive was born on October 31, 1939, in Carmanville. A devoted educator, father, grandfather and passionate outdoorsman, he spent his live guiding others with wisdom, Patience and a thoughtful perspective on what truly matters. He lived with unwavering principle and generosity and was deeply respected by all who were fortunate to know him.
Clive faced the cruelty of cancer with courage, humility, and strength until his final day. Clive passed peacefully away surrounded by his loving family at the Lionel Kelland Hospice in Grand Falls-Windsor on July 25, 2025.
Kathleen was born on June 30, 1944, in Lewisporte. Known to many as Kay, she was a devoted mother, grandmother, and lifelong educator, remembered for her warmth, fierce independence, and gentle spirit. She poured her heart into her family, her cherished garden, and the many students whose lives she touched with compassion and care.
A private and graceful woman, Kay faced the challenges of Alzheimer’s with remarkable strength and unwavering dignity. Kay passed peacefully away surrounded by her loving family in her own home in Lewisporte on July 31, 2025.
Clive and Kay were married for 58 years, a union grounded in love, laughter and deep friendship. Their final days reflected the life they shared—marked by tenderness, peace and unbreakable devotion.
They are predeceased by their beloved son, Greg. Left to cherish their memory are their son Sheldon, daughters-in-law Jenny and Alisa; grandchildren Zachary (Jasmine), Melissa, Justin, and Jenna; Clive’s brother Cyril (Ethel); his best friend Clar; and Kay’s brothers Gerald (Mable), Bruce (Phyllis), and Herb. They are also fondly remembered by many extended family members and friends whose lives were touched by their kindness and love.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate teams at Horwood’s Homecare, Pleasantview Manor and the Lionel Kelland Hospice and the dedicated professional MAID providers along with all those who offered support and comfort during this time.
A private celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in their memory may be made to the Lionel Kelland Hospice, The Alzheimer Society of Newfoundland and Labrador, or the Canadian Cancer Society.
