Marjorie Joyce Baker Obituary

Marjorie Joyce Melinda Baker (Rimmer) of Little Burnt Bay passed away on August 29th 2025 at the Lewisporte Health Centre.


Joyce was born in Little Burnt Bay to the Late: Jack and Rosabella Rimmer. She met the love of her life, William in 1955 and was married on July 17, 1956. Together they were blessed with 8 beautiful children. Joyce was a stay at home mom, while her husband worked away in the lumber woods. She will be forever remembered for her fun loving personality and her gift of gab.


Joyce is survived by her loving husband William of 69 years, daughter Marjorie ( Gerorge) Dawe, Son Carl (Anne) Baker, Wilfred (Herma) Baker, daughter Valerie (Baxter) Nippard, daughter Kimberly (Maurice) Nippard, daughter Melissa Baker, daughter in law Mable Baker, son In-Law Randy Scott, along with 17 grandchildren, 31 great grand children, and 4 great great grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.


In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her son Kenneth Baker; daughter Caroline Scott (Boo), her sisters Annie Ball, Edna Harris, Winnie LeDrew, and brothers Pleamon Rimmer, and Stanley Rimmer.


Resting at Families Funeral Home in Lewisporte with visitation on Monday, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm.



Funeral service will take place from Bethel Pentecostal Tabernacle in Little Burnt Bay on Tuesday September 2nd at 1 pm. Interment will follow at the Community Cemetery.


As expressions of sympathy donations may be made in her memory to the Church Building Fund
