Pansy Porter Obituary

It is with profound sadness and heartbreak that we announce the passing of Pansy Porter, age 78 of Porterville, NL. Pansy passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on November 10, 2025 at the Lionel Kelland Hospice.

Born on March 19, 1947 in Lewisporte, NL, to the late Wilfred and Ivy Martin. Pansy grew up with a deep sense of family and community. In 1976 she married the love of her life, Hubert Porter and together they built a beautiful loving family and a life filled with laughter, devotion and care.

When Pansy became a mother, her world revolved around her children.

She was lovingly known as a “helicopter mom” – always close by, ensuring her family was safe, happy and loved (sometimes even when they didn’t realize she was there).

Pansy lived her life with compassion and kindness. Her greatest joy came from spending time with family who were the light of her life. She also treasured her visits to Winnipeg, MB, to spend time with her eldest child and husband, creating many cherished memories.

Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her devoted husband of 49 years, Hubert; and their children Lisa (Dennis) Blazewicz, Lorena (Gerry) Canning and Marc (Amy) Porter; precious grandchildren, Faith, Cash and Reid; her grand-pups Cuddles, Mya and Jax.

She will be lovingly remembered by her siblings David Martin, Lloyd (Marlene), Bruce (Marilyn), Elaine (Wade) Young and Cavelle Bailey; as well as a large circle of family and friends. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her brother-in-law Gordon Bailey, sister-in-law Doreen Martin and nephew Corey Martin.

Resting at Maranatha Pentecostal Church on Tuesday, November 11, 2025 with visitation to take place from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm.

A celebration of Pansy’s life will be held at 1:00 pm on November 12, 2025 at Maranatha Pentecostal Church in Brown’s Arm with interment to follow at the Porterville United Church Cemetery.

As expressions of sympathy donations may be made in her memory to the Lionel Kelland Hospice.

Pansy will be forever remembered for her compassion, fighting spirit and the boundless love she shared with all who knew her.

The family would like to acknowledge the staff of Ocean Breeze Retirement Living, ICU, and the staff and volunteers of Lionel Kelland Hospice.
