It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Anne Elizabeth Murrin, who died peacefully on November 15, 2025, at Gander Hospital, at the age of 81.

Anne is predeceased by her father, Cyril John Henifent, her mother, Mary Francis (McDonald) Henifent, and her brother James Henifent; Carol and Patricia.

Anne was a woman who embraced life with joy. She loved music, dancing, listening to the radio, and never turned down a good feed of cooked dinner. She cherished her family and friends with her whole heart—there was nothing more important to her. Her children were truly her world, the center of everything she did and all that she was.

Left to mourn with love and gratitude are her children, Kelly and Stephen (Dawne) Murrin, and her beloved grandchildren, Amber and Leah Murrin, who brought her endless pride. She is also survived by her brothers Gerald and William, her sister Marion (Charlie) Ballou, nephews Corey (Janette) and John Henifent, niece Marion (Matthew Atwood) Henifent. Special mention to her lifelong friend Margaret Blackmore, whom she treasured dearly and her friend Garry Hanlon.

Special thanks are extended to Horwood’s Home Care team—Lisa, Gerdie, and Germaine—whose kindness and compassion made them feel like family to Anne.

Anne was a force of nature. She faced cancer, a stroke, and many of life’s hardships with courage, determination, and her trademark stubbornness. She never gave up on the things—or the people—she loved. She lived a good life, full of moments she could be proud of, and surrounded by those who loved her.

May she rest peacefully, knowing she was deeply loved and will be deeply missed.

Resting at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish in Norris Arm on Monday, from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Funeral service will take place on Tuesday, November 18th, at 1:00 pm. Interment will follow at the Roman Catholic Cemetery.
