Passed peacefully away at Lionel Kelland Hospice-GFW on Saturday, November 29, 2025 surrounded by his loving family at the age of 74 years, George Canning of Comfort Cove-Newstead was predeceased by his parents Allan and Ada Canning; brother-in-law Roy and sister-in-law Linda Canning.
Leaving to cherish many memories are his loving wife Babe and their two children Tammie (Ron) Canning and Dawn (Jay) Prado. Three precious grandchildren, Jayden, Addison and Ethan.
He will be lovingly remembered by his siblings, Mildred Feener, Bert, Stewart (Pansy), Scott (Gerilda), Oscar (Rhonda), Harold (Masie); and many nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
George loved nature and being outdoors especially in the woods, catching rabbits and enjoying a boil up. He loved his weekly game of Yahtzee. However, his greatest Joy was found in the company of his loved ones.
Following cremation, burial will take place at the Salvation Army Cemetery in Comfort Cove-Newstead at a time to be announced. Donations May be made in his memory to the Salvation Army Cemetery Fund.
