It is with heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of Bessie Loretta Wells of Lewisporte, at James Paton Memorial on Monday, February 16, 2026, at the age of 71 years.

Bessie was predeceased by her parents; Walter and Rita Wells; brother Jim Brown; granddaughter Michaela Shaw and her niece Julia Wells.

Leaving to cherish her many memories are her children, Cyril Shaw (Bonnie), Mike Shaw (Kim), Eileen Shaw and Wanda Shaw (Marty).

She will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Robin Walsh-Shaw (Donnie), Ryan Shaw, Jeanine Shaw, Cortney Blundon (Tyler), Daniel Blundon (Kaylee), Xavier Shaw and Emerson Shaw as well as her great-grandchildren Spencer Shaw, Preston Hann, Cristian White and Mellynda Dyson-Shaw.

She will be deeply missed by her brothers; John Wells (Daphne), Larry Wells (Shelley) and Ford Wells; as well as her sisters Jean Wells, Shirley Welsh and Florence Ryan (Ted); and other relatives and friends.

Bessie will be forever missed by her special friend Wade Jennings as well as other family and friends.

Resting at Families Funeral Home with visitation on Sunday, February 22nd from2-4pm and 7pm to 9pm. A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 23rd at 1pm from The Bethel Pentecostal Church in Stanhope. Interment will follow at the Pentecostal Cemetery in Lewisporte.
