Betty Goldie Louise Combden (Hynes) Obituary
It is with deep sadness the family announce the passing of Betty Goldie Louise Combden (Hynes) nee Pond from Little Burnt Bay, NL. She passed peacefully away on Monday, March 23, 2026 at the Lewisporte Health Centre, surrounded by her loving family.
Betty was born in Twillingate a daughter of the late Norman and Elma Pond. She was also predeceased by her husband, Raymond Hynes; siblings, Augustus Pond, Gilbert (Carrie) Pond and Muriel (Garland) Ball.
Left to mourn and cherish her memories, her Husband Herbert Combden, son David (Wavey), daughter, Jackie (Carl), daughter, Donna (Kevin), son, Eugene and son Barry (Michelle). Betty will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Crystal (Ali) and Adria (Shawn). Peyton (Patrick) and Austin (Sierra); great-grandchildren Layla, Thomas, Elise and Nolan.
As well as her brother Lloyd (Sally) Pond and large circle of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Her extended family from her second marriage included, 6 children, 7 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Resting at Families Funeral Home in Lewisporte with public visitation taking place on Thursday, March 26th, 2026 from 2-4 pm and private family visitation from 7-9 pm.
Funeral service will be held on Friday, March 27, 2026 at 11am from Bethel Pentecostal Church in Stanhope with interment to follow at the Community Cemetery in Little Burnt Bay.
Expressions of gratitude while caring for Betty to the caregivers of Ocean Breeze Retirement Living, James Paton Memorial Hospital and the Lewisporte Health Centre.
As expressions of sympathy flowers are welcomed.
