Clarence Hoddinott of Embree passed peacefully into the presence of the Lord on Tuesday, March 12, 2024 at James Paton Memorial Hospital in Gander at the age of 87 years. Clarence was born in Salt Pond on February 19, 1937 a son of the late George and Abigail Hoddinott. Leaving to cherish his memory are his wife Geraldine, son Derek; stepchildren Trinda (Patrick) Gennaux, Penny (Craig) Sinnicks, Nigel (Paula Young) Perry and Neal (Vicky) Perry. He will be deeply missed by his grandchildren Aletha (Peter) Walsh, Breanna (Blair) Pinksen, Brian Sinnicks, Nathan (Bessie) Perry and Matthew Perry; great grandchildren, Carter, Charlotte, Lily, Kaylee, Zackary and Quinton. He will be lovingly remembered by his brothers Bert (Winnie) Hoddinott, Cyril (Audrey) Hoddinott and his sister Melinda (Carl) Janes; as well as many nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by his first wife Jean and his sisters Marie LeDrew and Madeline LeDrew; brothers-in-law Guy LeDrew and Austin LeDrew. Arrangements have been placed in the care of Families Funeral Home in Lewisporte with visitation on Thursday, from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at Glad Tidings Tabernacle in Embree. Funeral service will be held on Friday, March 15, 2024 at 1:00pm with interment to follow at the Community Cemetery in Embree. Donations may be made in his memory to the Calypso Foundation.
