Obituary of Louise Melita Wells
Louise Melita Wells-of Little Burnt Bay, passed away on Saturday, June 1, 2019 at the Lewisporte Health Center, at the age of 93 years. She was the daughter of the late David and Lillian Hoddinott. She was a life-long member of the Bethel Pentecostal Church in Little Burnt Bay. a dedicated homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother, great- grandmother and great- great grandmother. Her most cherished possessions were her family whom she loved with all her heart, and she dearly loved her grandchildren as well, there was always room for one more.
Her passions were knitting socks, and mitts which she knitted for hours un-end. She dearly loved to bake tea buns and pies, making home made jams and cooking (she could put taste to a rubber boot when cooked with her main ingredient, Love.)
She is survived by her devoted and loving sons: Mervin (Carrie), Maxwell (Maisie), Pleamon (Maxine), David, Gary (Heather), Tony (Velma); also daughters: Betty (Hollis)Pelley, Mary Baker, Geraldine (Larry) Hurley, Joan (Brad) Clarke, and Valerie (Sheldon) Dorey; 36 Grandchildren, and many great-grand children, and great- great grandchildren, and her sister Hazel Foss, brothers: Winston, Pierce, and Selby Hoddinott.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband Herbert; precious son Joseph, and 2 infant babies, grandson Byron Pelley, granddaughter Degera Wells, sisters, Florence Hynes and Delphine Hutchings.
Resting at Bethel Pentecostal Tabernacle in Little Burnt Bay, with visitation on Sunday, from 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday from 2-4p.m. and 7-9p.m. Funeral service will take place on Tuesday at 2p.m. with interment to follow at the Community Cemetery in Little Burnt Bay.
