Obituary of Roy Gordon Coates

Passed peacefully away surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, June 15, 2019, at the Carmelite House in Grand Falls-Windsor, Roy Gordon Coates formerly of Wings Point at the age of 90 years. 

Predeceased by his parents: the late: Lewis and Emma Coates; grandson, Brent Neville; brothers, Don and Albert Coates; sisters in law, Rosie Francis and Marjorie LeDrew; brother’s in law: Claude Francis, Malcom LeDrew, and Wilson Fancey.

Leaving to cherish his memory: his wife, Pansy; children: Guy (Joyce), Sadie (Dave), Aleta (Rick), Evelyn (Randy), Gary (Marilyn), Marilyn (Derrick), Ross (Eileen), Dean (Christine). 18 grandchildren, 24 great- grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren; sister, Dulcie Fancey; and sisters in law: Cavell Coates, Joyce LeDrew, Beatrice Rose Troake; also survived by a large circle of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Resting at Wings Point Pentecostal Tabernacle, with visitation to take place on Monday from 7-9pm and Tuesday from 2-4pm and 7-9pm, which includes the family service. Funeral service will take place on Wednesday, June 19th, at 2 pm with interment to follow at the Pentecostal Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to a charity of one’s choice.
