Obituary of Jean Schalo-Mews

Schalo (Mews), Jean Lorraine (nee Armstrong) passed peacefully away August 17, 2020 in Gander NL. Born August 1, 1947 in Ottawa, Ontario. Daughter to late Harry (Isabel) Armstrong and Margaret (Don) Mason. Brother to late Robert (Bobby) Armstrong. Sister to Cathy, Terry (Heather), and Sandra (Barry) Alexander. Loving mother to Kim (Steven), Tim (Melanie), and Matthew (Tina). Loving life partner for 26 years to Max Mews. A love so pure and true that kept her comforted to the end. A loving heart to Max’s daughters Jackie (Tim), Dale (Dale), Rhonda (Shawn), grandchildren (Brad, Charity, Nikita, Colby, Leah), great grandchildren (Alex, Max, Lilly, Morgan). Incredible Oma to Matty (Rhiannon), Cassie (Rachael) and Josh (Holly); aunt and great aunt to many nieces and nephews. A sister in law to many. A friend to all who knew her. Whether you called her mom, Oma, Jeannie, Aunt Lorraine, Lainy, Jean or Lala, you could feel the love that flowed through her. She lived a life of honesty and respect. A true friend to all that knew her. She will be sadly missed. Resting at Families Funeral Home in Lewisporte, on Wednesday from 6-8pm. Funeral service will take place on Thursday at 12 noon from Families Funeral Home for family and close friends with cremation to follow. (Service available by zoom) In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Embree Community Cemetery.
