Please accept our condolences regarding Cluny's passing. My interactions with Cluny were few and far between over the years, and they often occurred at a funeral home while paying respects. He conveyed natural inquisitiveness and sincerity when speaking to you, and it was easy to see his humble yet larger-than-life statue served him very well in the business community and life in general.
I grew up knowing Notre Dame Agencies as a competitor of sorts (albeit much bigger) to our family business, however Cluny was a man my father, my late brother, and countless others spoke very highly of. Cluny was known to have made many younger people [some who were headed down the wrong path] into something of themselves as productive adults. His measure of paying it forward, his provincial business impact, his love of family, and helping others will never be fully understood.
He established quite a legacy for others to carry forward and build upon.
Hold him in your hearts, with your heads high-- knowing he no longer suffers. May he Rest in Peace!

Cluny's love of God and people was made evident to us as an organization ( Teen Challenge ) throughout the years as he generously supported the efforts to bring a faith based drug and alcohol centre to the province of NL. Thanks to Cluny and others like him the Atlantic Hope Womens Centre now exists and women are experiencing true freedom from the bondage of addiction; the freedom that can only be found in Christ. Thank you Cluny! your legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of all those you love but also in the individuals whose lives will be forever changed through God's intervention at Teen Challenge.

So sorry to hear of Cluney's passing, although already he has been welcomed to his Heavenly Home.
As the Bible indicates, for the believer, the one who has accepted Jesus as Saviour, "to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord." In that fact we do rejoice!

I remember meeting Cluney was I was posted with the RCMP to Lewisporte in 1969. Always enjoyed a laugh, smile and friendly conversation. So sorry to hear of Cluny’s passing.

Cluny was one of the finest and outstanding men we have ever met. Wherever we dropped by to visit him at his office, he always took quality time out of his very busy schedule to spend with us.
Cluny was a very successful businessman and through all his business endeavours and accomplishments he remained a “Gentleman”.
However, we will remember Cluny mainly for his godly characteristics. We can truly say that Cluny Sheppard was more than a “Family Man” or a “Businessman”, he was a devoted “Man of God”.
Cluny walked with Jesus Christ by faith during his earthly pilgrimage, but now he is walking with Jesus by sight.

I am so sorry for your loss. Even though, I did not know Mr Sheppard I do have a personal special memory of him. My grandmother Hennifent had a lot of dealings with Cluny and Notre Dame Agencies. When her home burnt down in 1989 with no insurance (forgot to renew) he personally contacted her and gave her a bedroom set. She spoke kindly of him for the rest of her life and my family still talks of his kindness. Heaven has one more angel today. Take care and once again I am so sorry for your loss. We were so saddened to hear our best friend had passed. We have been friends with Cluny and Golda for many years. June and I have so many memories of our travels,times spent togeather in Florida and our many conversations over a meal or a coffee.Cluny was a very devoted husband,father and grandfather. Please accept my most sincere condolences on Cluny's passing. I have many fond memories from many years ago when visiting Aunt Louise and Uncle Jim in Embree. Cluny was a true success in life and in business. He always spoke so fondly of Golda and his beautiful daughters. I last saw Cluny
while out for Sunday dinner at the Brittany last summer. I was doing so well and we had a great

We are very sad to hear of Mr. Sheppard’s passing. Our hearts go out to you and we grieve along with you during this difficult time. We have many great memories of shared visits with Mr. Sheppard. We especially cherish the memory, of the evening we sat around the piano at his house, singing the great hymns of the faith, like, The Old Rugged Cross, How Great Thy Art and In Times Like These.

I am so sorry to hear of your dads passing. I can’t imagine the heartbreak you must all be going through.
I spent a lot of time at your childhood home growing up, and I have so many fond memories of your dad. He was quick to smile, and always easy to talk to. I’ve heard many family stories over the 30 years I’ve been close friends with Ann-Marie, and they all had one theme in common. Family! I always admired how much you all loved each other, and I’m sure it was your dad and mom who set the tone!
I hope the sorrow you feel is lightened by love, and I pray that your memories bring you peace, comfort, and strength today and always. I was so surprised to see this today, but can only imagine the welcome he will receive in heaven surrounded by so many loved ones and friends. He will get to see my beloved husband, Pastor Leslie Bath and son, Timothy before me. We remember the lovely visits we were privileged to have in your home and visits in Ontario as well. So special. These memories live on, even though the physical body is not here and will be deeply missed, He is far better off than any of us right now with so much happening in the world today. I can understand the loss and emptiness having gone through this twice in one year in 2017, but we have a Blessed Hope beyond the grave and I don't think it will be much longer before we will be reunited once again with our loved ones. Until then, my thoughts and prayers are with you at this time.
