Obituary of Ernest Calvin Harris

Please share a memory of Ernest to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
With tremendous sadness we announce the sudden passing of Ernest Calvin Harris, of Harris Point, Gander Bay at James Paton Memorial Hospital into the arms of his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Ernest was the first-born child of Fred and Adelaide Harris on April 17, 1939. On April 28, 1974 he trusted Christ as his Saviour and served him faithfully for 46 years. He was predeceased by his infant daughter Nikita, daughter Joan Harris Bell just 3 years ago and his parents Fred and Adelaide Harris. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife of 59 years Lorretta Harris (Nee Osmond), children: Sandra Kelsey (Robert) of Forest, ON. and their children Diana and Jeremy and families; Geoffrey (Christine) Tatamagouche, NS and their children Jessica, Dylan, Reuben, Adina; Roxanne Harris (Paul) Tatamagouche, NS and children Micah, Kailyn, Raven, Sasha and families, Kirby (Lorelei) Gander, NL and their daughter Abigail, Sheldon (Trenda) Gander, NL and their children Nakita, Megan Alyssa and family; grandsons: Joshua and Daniel Klingbeil and families, son in law Anthony Bell, as well as a large circle of beloved extended relatives and friends. Our dad was the biggest hero of our lives! Dad had the biggest heart, and it was open to everyone and anyone who met him would learn right away this man had a heart of gold. Dad was a quiet man, soft spoken, the most humble, down to earth, sensitive, caring, and thoughtful man. He loved his family and friends deeply. Dad had a soft spot; he would cry about anything – whether it be sad or happy! he will always be in our hearts. Our gratitude and thanks are extended to the Emergency Room Staff at James Paton Memorial Hospital for their wonderful care during his last hours. “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16” Visitation will take place on Sunday from 1-5pm from the Gospel Hall in Main Point Davidsville. In keeping with Covid 19 regulations, funeral service will be by invitation only, with interment to follow at the Gospel Hall Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy donations may be made in his memory to the Gospal Hall Building Fund.
