A found memory of Grandpa, our last Christmas together. The Benoit family showing us their wine making skills. Grandpa David so was so interested in the process! We all enjoyed hearing the stories Grandpa told us over Christmas dinner. I will forever cherish this memory ❤

To Neil, Gail, and the rest of the family;
I count myself fortunate in having found Neil and Gail as co-workers then friends, and through this was able to meet Dave and Pearl both, and came to appreciate them as the loving heads of this great family. I was fortunate to spend a few days in Lewisporte, as well as working with (but never keeping up to ) Dave when he helped us out in the work Neil, Gail and I were doing in Mississauga. He was inexhaustable and put most of us youngsters to shame. But he was an honest, intelligent and often very funny observer and commentator on the world around him. The world is a poorer place for his passing, we aren't creating people like him anymore. I trust he is at peace now, with his beloved wife, and smiling on his children ( though not without a comment or recommendation to offer) now, and am glad that he is freed from the constraints his body had put on his spirit the last few years. Rest in peace with my respect and admiration, and a great deal of affection.
My best wishes to all the family;
Glen Cannon

Evelyn, Carolyn, Neil and Gail, please accept my heart felt condolences on the passing of your father. I always thought very highly of Uncle Dave. If mom and dad said they were going to Stanhope to visit uncle Dave and Aunt Pearl I was the first one in the car. I was always made to feel welcomed and I would sit for hours listening to uncle Dave's stories. I would cross my fingers that he would take out the guitar and sing a tune. My most treasured memory was staying the night with Gail and being served toast in bed for a late night snack. The next day Uncle Dave teased me about keeping him awake with our giggling! May you find comfort in the beautiful memories he created for so many people.

Evelyn, Carolyn, Neil, & Gail,
We share in the loss of Uncle Dave. A man who owned his own sewing machine for so many years! He was such a gentle spoken and kind man. Last time Cora and I visited, he still had lots of stories to tell. Thanks to Uncle Kevin and Aunt Audrey for being there. They were always there for Mom and Dad as well. Caring thoughts are with you all. Someone so special can never be forgotten.

To Neil, Caroline, Evelyn and Gail and the large Ball family:
Dave and Pearl were a joy for me to have as neighbors who were never nosy when inquirIing about my life. They just let me talk about anything when Pearl would invite me over for coffee and treats every few months. Pearl never came over to my place for coffee and I always wondered why - she would just stand at my front door and talk for a few minutes with me but she was a very lovely quiet lady who passed away a few months after my husband passed 6 1/2 months ago. As soon as I phoned Pearl to tell her that sad day she was at my door with a sympathy card and some money tucked inside. I will never forget that. I was lucky enough to meet Neil and Caroline who were very friendly to me and you could just tell they loved their parents oh so much and were very respectful and loving to them. I only got to meet Gail and Evelyn a couple of times so didn't know them well but I know for sure they were a wonderful family. The last time I saw Neil he was building a new bridge at Dave's home and Dave was supervising in his own unassuming way.
Dave and Pearl were a wonderful couple and I know they are with each other now in heaven and the angels are rejoicing. God bless them and I am praying for the family as they deal with the sudden passing of their father, Dave Winston Ball.

I remember about ten years ago, several friends and I were touring Newfoundland by motorcycle. Evelyn had often told me to stop in to visit her parents if I ever had the chance, So I went looking for them, we stopped at Stanhope bridge where people were swimming to ask directions, the gentleman I asked jumped in his car and led us to David's house.
We arrived unannounced and were greeted as if they were ready for company. We had a great visit enjoying the amazing view, listening to great stories and being shown his pride and joy Cadillac That evening they allowed us to pitch our tents and I promised we would be gone early the next morning.
Early the next morning I woke to the smells of a great breakfast and fresh coffee. we stayed most of the day enjoying this wonderful couples hospitality.
David and his wife Pearl were exceptional people, anyone lucky enough to have known them can consider themselves blessed
RIP

To Ball Family
My wife and I share in the loss David Ball, a great friend and a great historian that loved his family in a way that brighten his day and his face would reflect happiness when sharing about each member with pride.
We visited Dave and Pearl on many occasions and it was a delight to spend time with them and enjoy the good cooking, music, singing and many stories about history, and always had to get a number of bibles out to explain where they come from and refer to history that it represented.
You would know when he was in a twitter but he always took the time to sit and fellowship. I would refer to him as the handyman because it seem he could put his hand to anything and engineer something or make it work with a few phone calls to his son for another opinion.
He will be missed but let the many good memories be your strength moving forward.
Our prayers and thoughts are with the family,
Pastor and Mrs. George Williams
