Verna Sheppard passed peacefully away surrounded by her loving family on Monday, September 20th, 2021, in Grand-Falls-Windsor at the age of 81 years. Predeceased by her parents Gordon and Bessie Farr and brother Heber Farr and brother-in-law Ford Rideout. Leaving to cherish her memory: her husband of 60 years Clarence; six children, Marlene (Lloyd) Nippard, Sharon (Sterling) Mews, Kathy (Brian) Wells, Tena (Leon) Wells, Todd Sheppard, Krista (Dean) Hillier; eight grandchildren: Jenny (Greg) Coffey, Mike (Sarah) Nippard, Nicole (Chris) Wells, Tyrone (Tiffany) Wells, Tammy (Matt) Dwyer, Cody (Robin) Sheppard, Kyle (Keisha) Sheppard, and Chloe Hillier; thirteen great grandchildren: Isabella, Brooklyn, Makaila, Gavin, Gage, Cade, Haley, Logan, Bryson, Raquia, Raquel, Kayley and Sophia. As well her sister, Ruth Rideout and brother Winston (Stella) Farr along with her sister in law Mabel Farr. Resting at Families Funeral Home in Lewisporte with visitation on Thursday from 2-4pm and 7-9pm for family and extended family only in light of the increase of Covid 19 cases in the province. The family appreciates your understanding. Funeral service will take place on Friday, September 24, 2021, from Glad Tidings Tabernacle in Embree at 2pm. Interment will follow at the Community Cemetery. Donations may be made in her memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. At the request of the family should you wish to attend the service please call Glad Tidings Tabernacle at 535-8103 to reserve seating.
