Mary Myrtle Hodder passed away on Wednesday, August 10, 2022 at James Paton Memorial Hospital, in Gander at the age of 96 years. Mary was born in Twillingate to the late Lewis and Lavenia Keefe. She moved to Lewisporte at the age of 20 to go in service with Doctor Wood and during this time she met Gordon the love of her life and together shared 73 years of marriage and raised three children. Mary lived with such faith in God and the promise of heaven and was devoted to all her family whom she prayed for constantly. Her favourite pass time was knitting, which she did till the end. Our mother has left our family with so many wonderful memories that we will always cherish. The best mom anyone could ask for. Leaving to cherish her memory are her husband Gordon, daughters Betty Headland, Bernice (Jeff) Gillingham and son Roger (Brenda) Hodder; brother-in-law Harmen Combden. As well grandchildren, Deanne (Craig) Headland, Stephen (Maury) Wolverton, Jeffrey (Renee) Gillingham, Jamie (Ashley) Gillingham, Amy (Rob) Winacott, Jason (Casey) Hodder, Colleen (Bryson) Williams, Nancy (Gerald) Langlois; 20 great grandchildren 5 great great grandchildren and a large circle of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister and brother-in-law Florence and Bob Freake, sister Violet Combden, baby sister Elizabeth son-in-law Rex Headland. Visitation will take place from Families Funeral Home in Lewisporte on Saturday from two to four and 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Funeral service will take place on Sunday, August 14th at 1:00 PM from the funeral home with cremation to follow. Donations may be made in Mary's memory to a charity of one's choice. Mom, you have joined the family circle in heaven and angels will enjoy your beautiful smile. We all know you will be watching over us. Rest in peace mom we love you.
