Obituary of Leah Brett

Passed peacefully away at James Paton Memorial Hospital on August 24, 2022 at the age of 92 years. Leah Brett was born on Barr’d Islands daughter of the late Israel and Mary Godwin. Leaving to cherish her memory are her children, Jane Brett (Willie Fitzpatrick), Pauline Brett, Carolyn (Marshall) Foster, Pearce Brett, Barry (Jennifer) Brett, and Howard (Jennifer Combden) Brett and Janice Brett. Her grandchildren, Heather, Chris, Brett, Kelly, Kylie, Gordon and Ryan. As well her sister Julia Philpott and half sister, Ivy (John) Quinlan; many nieces and nephews other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents Leah was predeceased by her sons Ron and Larry and two infant children, grandson Scott and her brothers Nehemiah, Samuel, Stewart and Harvey. Leah was a long-standing member of the ACW and president for many years, an active member of her community and loved to knit and quilt. She also loved a good game of cards and bingo. In Keeping with her wishes cremation has taken place. A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 29th at 2pm from the Church of The Holy Spirit, Fogo Island, with interment to follow at the Evangelist Cemetery in Joe Batt's Arm Donations may be made in her memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Diabetics Association or a charity of one’s choice.
