It is with great sadness that the family of the late Walter Payne announce his passing on Friday, December 23, 2022 at the Fogo Island Health Centre at the age of 82 years. Walter was born on Fogo Island on December 29, 1939, he was the son of the late Walter and Jessie Payne.

Leaving to cherish his memory are his children: Beverly (Angus) Walbourne, Nina (Neil) Kinden, Valarie (Steve) Blundon, Pansy (Marshall) Ford, Corey Payne, and Tracy (Gary) Burke. He will be lovingly remembered by his 15 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews other relatives and life long friends.

In Addition to his parents he was predeceased by his wife Kathleen; brothers, Ambrose, Henry, George, Garland, Arthur, Eric; sisters, Harriett, Marie, Florence, Naomi and Gladys.

Visitation will take place on Monday, December 26, 2022 from St. Andrew's Anglican Church on Fogo Island at 11:00am with funeral service to follow at 1:00pm. Interment will take place at the Anglican Cemetery.
