Obituary of Calvin W. Potter

It is with great sadness the family of the Late Calvin W. Potter announce his passing on Friday, April 14, 2023 surrounded by his loving family at his home in Lewisporte at the age of 86 years. Calvin was born on Samson’s Island on January 30, 1937 son of the late Allan and Meta Potter. Leaving to cherish his memory his loving wife Marilyn of 61 years; son Allan and his daughter Kelsie (her husband Tom) Craddock, and daughter Lisa (son-in-law Robert) Simpson and their children Shane (Jen) and Ryan and his great granddaughters Devyn Rose and Elsie. He well be deeply missed by his sisters Minnie Broadhurst, Dorothy Chambers and Judith (Steven Strople) Potter; brother David Potter; nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents Calvin was predeceased by his brother’s in-law, Eric Broadhurst and Peter Chambers. Resting at Families Funeral Home 9 Forward Drive, Lewisporte with visitation on Monday from 7-9pm and Tuesday from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Funeral Service will take place on Wednesday, April 19, 2023 from Philadelphia Pentecostal Tabernacle in Lewisporte at 11:00AM. Interment will follow at the Pentecostal Cemetery in Lewisporte. As expressions of sympathy flowers will be graciously accepted or donations in Calvin’s memory may be made to the Janeway Children’s Hospital Foundation. Service will be livestreamed through Philadelphia Pentecostal Tabernacle Facebook page or www.facebook.com/familiesfuneralhome.ca
