Passed peacefully away on Friday, April 21, 2023 at the Lewisporte Health Center at the age of 78. Verna G. Hayter was born in Norris Arm a daughter of the late Harry and Gladys Beaton.

Verna’s memory will forever live on and be cherished by her children, Roderick (Barb), Lorinda (Jim McDonald) Skiffington, Madge (Keith) Dwyer, Catherine (Robert Smith) Greening; precious grandchildren, Michael, Kayla, Corey, Sarah, and Nicole; three great grandchildren, Brooklynn, Alexander and Quinn. She will be fondly remembered by her siblings, Stella Corbin, Linda Pritchett, Beverley Daniel’s and Terry Beaton, many nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Clifford; granddaughter Stephanie Hayter; sons-in-law James Dwyer and Obediah Skiffington; siblings, Lillian Chapman, Doris Lee, Pansy Beaton, Hayward Beaton, Donald Beaton and Hazel Greening.

Visitation will be held at Riverview United Church in Norris Arm on Saturday from 7-9pm and Sunday from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Funeral service will take place on Monday, April 24th, at 11Am with interment to follow at the United Cemetery.

Donations in her memory may be made in her memory to the Riverside United Cemetery Fund in Norris Arm.
