Passed peacefully away at Twillingate Long Term Care on Thursday, December 14, 2023 at the age of 83 years. Verbena F. Dorey a daughter of the late Frank and Daisy King was born in Grand Falls on September 17, 1940. She was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother, loving her family with all her heart.

Verbena was a teacher in her younger years, she taught in Deer Lake and later in Embree where she met her husband Hector and settled and raised their family. She will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by her three sons, Sheldon (Valerie), Shawn (Patsy) and Darren (Lori).

She will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren, Shawna, Shanda, Shane, Nicholas (Brittanie Rose), Keith (Brianne), Colter, Lily, Jordon, Kynan, Kameran, Amarah, Lynsey, Joey and Missy; her sister Maisie Rideout; sister-in-law Mavis King along with her dearest friend Leona Hanlon; nieces and nephews other relatives and friends.

The Family would like to thank the nurses and staff at the home for their wonderful care during her stay.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Hector Dorey; brothers Clarence and Erastus King; parents-in law William John and Martha Dorey.

In Keeping with her wishes cremation has taken place and interment will be held at a later date. Donations may be made in her memory to the Janeway Foundation.
