Obituary of Gordon Quinn

Passed peacefully away on Thursday, June 30, at the Bay St. George Long Term Care Center, Gordon Quinn (Francis), at the age of 75. Gordon was born on June 1, 1941, in Horwood, NL. He was given the name of Francis Garland Peckford at birth, but legally changed his name to Gordon Quinn in 2001. However, his family and long time friends always called Francis. Gordon is survived by his three sons: Scott (Gina) Peckford, Gary Peckford, and Morris (Kay) Peckford, three daughters: Joanne (Jay) Peckford, Gail (George) Chaisson, and Sheri (Jeremy) Colette, six grandchildren: Meagan, Aaron, Emily, Riley, Stephen and Mia. Also survived by his brother Fred (Christine) Peckford, sisters Rosetta Eastman, Elizabeth (Charlie) Savoury, and Margaret (Jim) Squires, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Joan; daughter Wavey, parents: George and Mabel Peckford; sister, Effie Hodder, brother, Charlie Peckford; and brother in laws Harold Moyles and Melvin Eastman. Cremation has taken place. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 23 at 4 pm, at the Salvation Army Church in Lewisporte, with Internment to follow at the Salvation Army Cemetery in Lewisporte. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Mental Health Association.
