Leah Ella Mae Edwards of Stanhope passed peacefully away on Thursday, July 4, 2024 at James Paton Memorial Hospital with her loving husband by her side at the age of 84 years. Born on October 9th, 1939, in Tacks Beach Placentia Bay, a daughter of the late Benjamin and Anna Brown. Leaving to cherish her memories are her husband Sterling Edwards of 49 years; daughters Renee Legault, Lisa (Trevor) Brown; grandchildren: Skye Legault and Grayson Brown; brothers: Bill (Geraldine) Brown, Lloyd (Claudette) Brown, Frank (Carol) Brown and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends who will cherish her memory and the life she lived. In addition to her parents Ella Mae was predeceased by her first husband Eugene Ginn and her son Johnny; son in law Sylvain Legault along with her many uncles and aunts, her parents in law Walter and Dorothy Edwards. Ella Mae's first love was for God, then her husband and her children. she will be deeply missed by her family. The family would like to take this opportunity to thank the staff at James Paton Memorial Hospital and her homecare worker's especially Crystal Hill for the care shown to her. Visitation from Families Funeral Home will take place on Saturday from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Funeral service will be held on Sunday, July 7th, at 1:00pm from Families Funeral Home with interment to follow at the Community Cemetery in Little Burnt Bay. Donations in her memory may be made to Missions (Building up Families).
