Nelson Brenton-Passed peacefully away at the Lewisporte Health Centre on Tuesday, July 23, 2024 at the age of 85 years. Nelson was born on Black Island on May 25, 1939, a son of the late Joseph and Janet Brenton
Leaving to cherish his memory his loving wife Sheila of 60 years. Five children Lee (Janet), Lisa (Tony), Lorne, Larry and Linda (Leon). He will be deeply missed by his 11 grandchildren, Matthew, Jessica, Brittany, Ryan, Kaitlyn, Marcus, Andrew, Jeffrey, Sarah, Hunter and Logan along with his 12 precious great-grandchildren.
He will be lovingly remembered by his siblings Betty Evans, Naida Noble, Josephine (Sam) Woolfrey, David (Gladys), Jemima, Lester Watton and Clarice (Calvin) Smart. As well as many nieces and nephews and a large circle of relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, Nelson was predeceased by his two infant brothers and brothers-in-law Norman Evans and George Noble.
Resting at Families Funeral Home in Lewisporte with visitation on Thursday from 2-4pm and 7-9pm.
Funeral service will take place on Friday, July 26, from the Salvation Army Citadel in Lewisporte at 1pm with interment to follow at the Salvation Army Cemetery in Lewisporte.
As expressions of sympathy flowers are accepted or donations may be made in his memory to the Salvation Army Building Fund ( in support of a new sound system).
