To Melvin, Tina, Vicki, Pamela and your families, we are so sorry to hear of Betty's passing. We would love to be there but we are away visiting family. Just know that our thoughts and prayers are with you all. Betty will be greatly missed, and our church will not be the same without her. God called her home because he has work for her to do, and she would want you all to go on with your life without her. Betty's prayers and thoughts everyday were that her family would be found ready for the coming of the Lord.
Our deepest sympathy, Bessie and Roy.

To the Ball and Tulk families
I am so sorry for your sudden loss. Growing up in Stanhope, I spent many days and nights in the family home. I still remember at a very young age when I told her that her peas pudding tasted like gravel. Luckily she laughed about it.
Betty always had a smile and kind words to say. She had a big heart and was there to help anyone.
It definitely won’t feel the same not seeing her in her usual seat in church next time I am home.
Wising you all peace during this difficult time of sorrow.

Q: How did you meet Betty?
A: I did meet Betty as Aunt Bee on the internet, I think it was around 2004, in a Christian Group through Instant Messenger I thought, and later in Facebook. She was always there for me with wise advice when I needed it the most. She was a very encouraging person, in my marriage, my being homesick and many more things. I always wanted to visit her but it was too far away and too expensive to get a plain ticket but she was always there online when I needed her. She was so worried for Melvin all the time, we prayed for him very regularly. Never knew somebody that was that proud of her children and grandchildren. She was a total example for me in humility and loving one another. On the screen of my laptop I could experience the love of Christ in her shining to me. I am very thankful to have known a person like Betty, she will always be my example how te spread the love of Christ to others.
I added a photo of myself because probably you do not have a clue who I am. I am Marijke from the Netherlands and lived in USA for 10 years. Since December 2012 I am back in my country.

Melvin, Tina (Tony), Vicky (Ken), Pamela (Dean) and grandchildren. My heart aches for your loss. Betty loved you all unconditionally and cherished every minute she spent with you. Hold dear to your hearts the beautiful memories you made together and let yourself find some comfort as you share them with each other through this difficult time. Her love will always be with you.
Betty was a very special lady who touched so many lives with her kindness and love and I was privileged to have had her in my life. Betty and I were room mates before she married Melvin - we shared so much laughter - many times until we cried. Our friendship grew even more as we aged. I will always remember our many walks and chats. I miss you already my dear friend.
Melvin, Tina, Vicky and Pamela - I am sending my prayers, love and hugs - as you now share your wife and mom with the angels.

To Melvin and Family:
From Pastor and Mrs. Bruce Mills
We were shocked and saddened to hear of Betty’s passing. We have many fond memories of Betty while we pastored in Stanhope, sharing many meals and lunches. We especially remember her “crystal” dishes. We have joked about that many times since. We send you our deepest condolences in this very sad time. We sorrow not as those who have no hope, but we have the assurance through Christ that we will meet again someday. May the God of all comforts comfort you all in your time of sorrow and may the peace of God cover you. Sorry we cannot be with you at this time , but be assured of our thoughts and prayers.

Our hearts are so heavy hearing the news of Betty’s passing. Melvin, Tina, Vicky and Pamela , be assured of our thoughts and prayers in the difficult days ahead. So many, memories of great times shared together when we worked together in probably every area of the church, back when we lived at Stanhope. Many meals shared together, cooking , baking, sewing , crafting( I still use her recipes) She loved the Lord with all her heart and loved to minister to others. All of these things bring back memories of times of fun, laughter and tears shared with my Friend who will never be forgotten.

I remember Betty from when I was a young girl growing up in Lewisporte. She was my Sunday School teacher. Each time I ran into her, in my later years, we’d talk about those days. I made sure that she knew that she’d impacted my life and that I appreciated her teaching me about the Lord. Her love for Jesus was always evident!
My deepest, heartfelt, sympathy to all her family & friends!

Betty had an international influence of godly character, Bible teaching, and wise influence. Through ‘Aunt Bee’s Parlor’ she loved, helped, encouraged, and guided strangers across the world and became their friend. My friend. Angels rejoice, we weep, and Betty is completely healed and awaiting her family, church, and friends in the loving presence of Jesus.

I will never forget the time that Betty and Melvin helped me move into my new house. She baked all kinds of Christmas goodies, while Melvin was putting bedrooms in the basement. I would come home from work and supper would be ready and everything was in place. To me , she was my Christmas angel of 1996. My sincere condolences to Tina, Vicki and Pam and as well to Melvin. May you feel God's love in this time of grief .
Proudly Serving You from Lewisporte, Newfoundland
