In memory of my greatest stepfather, I will always cherish the warmth and the family that comes with you. I always felt comfortable and happy when I was in your presence. My deepest sympathy to all the family – but especially to Mary, Marina, Karen and Les, and Trevor and Ryan. I love you all very much.
I liked to spend time with Edward. I really liked it when we were all sitting around the kitchen table and talking. I loved listening to Edward’s stories. He made me laugh. I will miss him very much.

Mary and all the Blake family
We are so pleased that we had a chance to visit you and Edward in the Gander hospital while we were in NL. We were so surprised at his quick recovery at that time. But God knew best, which is not always our desire.
We were so privileged to have been in Baytona, (I still call it Gayside) from 1974-1978 and meet and know Edward. It didn't take long for us to come to appreciate him. His love for the Lord, his family and his pastor's family was his priority. I do know that one of his main characteristics was his work ethic. We used to be amazed how he worked so easily and got along with his boys. That was his nature. He just along with everyone. Edward was a humble man, and he sure was a blessing to others. Edward was a super gentleman, honest worker, and faithful in everything he did and belonged to. He loved life and fun was his nature. It was no trouble to know, he was saturated with the grace and love of God. It reflected in his very life.
The great news is that while he lived, he lived well. Now, that he is absent from us in the body, he is living better. To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. There is no question in my mind, Edward is now in the presence of Jesus, waiting the great resurrection when the rapture will take place and together, we will all be reunited for all eternity. Edward was a smart man because in his early life he embraced by faith the salvation and promises of God. It sure pays to live life in Jesus. There will be no more weeping, pain or sickness.
We wish we could be there with you all today, but there is a better day coming. Until then when we shall meet again, may you be strong in the Lord and the Promises of God.
