Passed peacefully away at the Carmelite House, in Grand Falls-Windsor, on Tuesday, December 31st, 2019 at the age of 82 years. Yvonne Saunders of Norris Arm, daughter of the late: John and Fanny Penney. Yvonne was predeceased by the love of her life James; sisters, Hazel Delaney (Mike), Ida Wheaton (Bert); and brother Ronald Penney; brothers in law Harold and Joe; sister in law Betty. She will be lovingly remembered by her children: Jim (Annette), Kim (Robert), Janet (Nick), John (Kandy), Michelle and Brad; grandchildren: Amanda, Nicole (Duane), Jenny (Pat), and Conrad (Jenay); great grandchildren, Lily and Connor; brother in law Jack; and sister in law Doll and closest friends sister in law Phoebe Penney and Linda White, as well as her furry Companion Maggie. A special thanks to “her angels”, Christine and Sherry, for their constant care, compassion and friendship. Yvonne will be fondly remembered by her nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. All who knew her were touched by her gentle and loving soul. Resting at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish in Norris Arm, visitation will be held on Wednesday and Thursday from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Funeral service will take place on Friday, January 3rd, 2020 at 2pm, with interment to follow at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cemetery. Flowers are welcomed or donations may be made in her memory to the Church Building Fund, Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish, Norris Arm “don’t cry because it’s over. Smile because it happened” ….
