It is with a sincere heart that I send our condolences to Ina, the families and friends of Lindo. He has gone to his Heavenly home where he finds complete rest and we are assured of God’s promise that we will meet him again.
I remember Lindo very well from growing up in Stoneville. Him and Ina would come to our home to visit and he always made time to talk to us as kids and be sure to make us laugh. There was just something about him that showed great character.
Once I moved away from home and they eventually moved North for a while, it was many years before I saw them again.
When they moved to Gander, he sat behind us in church one morning and I felt a gentle tap on my shoulder. When I turned to see who it was, it was Lindo with his big smile saying “Hello Norma, how are you doing.” I was kind of shocked that he remembered me, but pleasantly surprised!
Many times after that I met them in different places around Gander. The last time I talked to Lindo was at Cobb’s Pond. Him and Ina were sitting on a bench enjoying the nice day together. I stopped to chat for a while and told them the funny story of how I surprised Mom and Dad with a visit home. I remember his laughter!
Words I would use to describe Lindo are Gentle, Loyal and Kindred Spirit.
“Strength is found in a gentle spirit!”
Be assured you are all in our thoughts and prayers.
Respectfully,
Norma Steele-Torraville & Geoff Torraville
