To Kathy and all the family:
We are so broken hearted to hear of Pastor Laun’s passing, truly he was a wonderful, anointed man of God, who was loved by all. He has left an amazing legacy of the love and faithfulness of God to his family and all who had the privilege to know him and call him a friend. He will be greatly missed. But we know he is now resting with his Heavenly Father, and it is reassuring to know that one day soon we will be reunited.
May this hope and the precious memories that you have of him, soften your sadness, and see you through this difficult time. And may God bless you and send His angels to comfort and strengthen you. We will never forget the powerful impact, he had on us when we first came to the Lord, his words of encouragement and wisdom were greatly appreciated, so anointed and just when we needed it. His friendship has always been a blessing to us.
We wish we could be with you during this difficult time, but rest assured our continual love and prayers are with you, today and always.

We first met Laun when we moved to Embree in 1999. His passion and zeal to present the message of Christ was very evident back then , even in something so simple and well done as in using puppets. It was no surprise when he became a pastor, and a very effective one at that. Please accept our sincere condolences on his sudden and unexpected passing.

Kathy, Audrey and family, please accept my sincere condolences. It was such a blessing to spend several years as a colleague of Laun's as we both ministered in the New World Island - Twillingate area. He was faithful to our work on the Ministerial Association and the Pastoral Care Committee of the local health care facility and was always up for an honest conversation about our shared joys and struggles as those committed to Christ's people and work in the world. I was so tickled, and happy to rib him about it, when he "saw the light" and followed me "home" to the Lewisporte area. I was so looking forward to, once again, being a colleague in ministry and even had a piece arranged for him to lead at our Christmas service at the health centre next month. I am sad that we didn't get that opportunity. I know, however, your sadness as a family far outweighs mine and so please know you have been in my prayers for peace since I heard the terrible news. I am so sorry I am out of the province for ecumenical church meetings this week and won't make the visitation or service but will be holding your names, and the Brown's Arm church family, in prayer here with church leaders from across the country. You were blessed with a wonderful son, husband, father, grandfather, brother....we join you in giving God thanks for Laun's life and the hope he held in the life everlasting. May the comfort of Christ, that Laun offered to many in his life, be yours now and always.

To Kathy, Candi, Adam, Levi & Audrey, Jody and Charlene and the extended family:
Words fall short when faced with such events. We had the privilege to cross paths a few times during our years of ministry with the PAONL; every occasion was special. His love for God, his family, and pastoral ministry was infectious. He has exchanged a legacy of faithful service for a Crown of life! Be encourages by the fact that very soon we will all be reunited when Jesus comes to establish Gods glorious Kingdom on the earth. We are praying for you during this difficult season.

To Kathy,Candi, Adam , Levi & Audrey, Jody and Charlene and other members of the family:
Words alone cannot express how we felt when we heard the news of the sudden passing of Laun.
It was hard to take in.
We remember when we were his Pastors in Embree, how he loved the work of God. He showed this by his involvement
With the youth of the church, the choir, the radio work, outreach, the Church Board, song leading etc.
He had the work of God always on his heart.
It was no surprise when he shared with us that he felt the Call of God to go into the Ministry.
Laun accepted that high calling and has for over 20 years done a tremendous work for the Lord wherever he and Kathy has Pastored.
Laun’s face would literally beam-as he would share with us about souls coming to the Lord or miracles that were happening in his church
Just last week we heard the testimony of a man from Lewisporte whose wife had been praying for him for almost 40 years,
Through Laun’s ministry in an Open Air service at Brown’s Arm just 2 weeks ago, this man got gloriously saved..
It is hard to believe Laun has “ FINISHED HIS COURSE”. We KNOW “ HE HAS KEPT THE FAITH!” And the “CROWN of
LIFE “ is Now his. WELL DONE BROTHER LAUN! We shall meet again.
Your friends and Colleagues

It is with deep sadness that we express our heartfelt sympathy to you in the passing of your loved one and our fellow pastor & friend, Brother Laun. We were shocked to hear of his sudden passing. Be assured of our continued thoughts and prayers through this deep valley. We are people of HOPE and that same HOPE was passed along to so many others through Brother Laun's ministry. The psalmist declared that in the valley of the shadow of death he was not afraid because the Lord was with him (Psalm 23). May you find peace and comfort in these words today.

My most sincere condolences to the Brushett family. Launie and I were close childhood friends and shared many adventures together. We started playing dinky cars at an early age. Older, we would swim at the Embree pond. One summer Launie and his family invited me to go to Burin and visit with his grandmother for several days. We enjoyed ourselves thoroughly paddling around in an old dory going back and forth to an island not too far of shore. one time we even camped out overnight in an old shelter we repaired located near what we called 1st bog. It was a little scary especially when a bear visited us scratching around in the night. The bear turned out to be Launie's dad. Launie was 2 years older than me and was stronger and faster. I was always trying to keep up and he always inspired me to try harder. I looked up to Launie and found him to be determined, kind, strong and thoughtful. I always knew that whatever Launie choose to do in his future, he would be very successful. It came as no surprise when I heard that Launie had become a Pastor and that he was exceedingly good. I have such fond memories of Launie and will always cherish them. He will be forever in my thoughts.

To Kathy and the Brushett family, I am so sorry for your loss. Laun was a wonderful Man who always greeted me with a story and had a smile for everyone. Thinking of you all at this very difficult time. I want to share a quote by Ralph Waldo Emerson which I believe reflects Laun’s life. "To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics; to appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded. Thinking of you all

To Laun’s family
We are shocked to hear of Laun’s passing. We first met him at Elim back in the mid 80’s. Such a quiet and pleasant person. The last time I saw him was when I was in Corner Brook and he was coming out of Shoppers at the Mill Brook Mall. I called him Rocky, thinking he was someone I knew from St. John’s. He knew me and had the biggest grin knowing I had made a big mistake. It had been years since I had seen him.
May the Lord comfort your hearts and give you peace at this time.
