Dear Earl, Sid and Eileen and family, We just heard the news about the loss of your mother. She was a very special lady indeed. Roy knew her as a family member and his teacher. Our son and I met her many years ago when we were home on New World Island. That was thirty years ago. I remember her as a great Scrabble game player along with cousin Bernice. The last time we saw her was at her home in Gander in 1999. Thinking of you all dear cousins. Sending our deepest condolences to you all. Crossing the kilometers with love. Eileen, Earl and Sid, I am so sorry to hear of your mother’s passing. I have fond memories of spending time at your home and the many car rides home from school with your mother driving. Dear Earl, Sid and Eileen, So very sorry to hear of the passing of your dear mother, Stella. I have many fond memories of her when we were all living on Quinton street. She was my grade 5 teacher as well. She often hosted us on Sunday nights for card games. She was a dedicated and extremely qualified teacher. Please accept my most sincere condolences. Earl, Eileen and Sid, So sorry to hear of your Mom’s passing. She was a great lady whose presence lit up any room she entered! I can’t remember when I didn’t know her. She taught with my Mom at the old junior high school in Lewisporte and although I went to school there I don’t think she taught me. The last time I saw her was with you, Eileen, at Rosie’s Restaurant in Gander. She didn’t remember me but when I mentioned Min’s name she lit up like a Christmas tree! It was so good to see her, and you, that day! Thinking of you all as you say goodbye to her. I wish I was home to see you but I am in Mount Pearl with my kids for Christmas. Hugs!!

We have many good memories of (Aunt) Stella over the years. It was always a treat to visit with, and on one occasion have her stay with us for several months. She blazed her own trail through life and always did it with great zeal and enthusiasm. Our lives were so much richer for having her as part of our extended family.
