I have so many memories of my uncle's smile and his big, loud laugh. Uncle Ivan was such a big part of our family for so many years. His wedding to Aunt Eileen is still one of my fondest memories of them. Such love.
We are all blessed who have had the opportunity to have been a part of Uncle Ivan's life.

So sorry to hear of Ivan’s passing. The first time I met Ivan was September of 1984 at Eastern Pentecostal Bible College. We became friends from the start. Me and my friend Paul Hamlyn, gave Ivan the nickname- “Beachy”, (maybe because he was from beachside,NL). We played a lot of indoor soccer at the college and other sports. Ivan always had a very Infectious smile on his face.
When Bess and I got married June 22, 1985, Eileen came and I invited Ivan. It was there that we introduced Ivan to Eileen, and the rest is history.
We have remained friends for almost 40 years. It’s so hard to lose someone so young. But, we will meet again!

We are so shocked and saddened to learn of Ivan's sudden passing. There are no words to express our sincere condolences sufficiently. We went to Beachside in 1978 to pastor until 1982. Ivan was a single young man at the time. It wasn't long before he gave his heart to the Lord. His smile became even brighter and so much warmer. He was such a wonderful person.
When I heard he was married and entered the ministry, we were ecstatic. We never had many opportunities to connect, outside of conferences, but he was always so pleasant and positive. Then we lost touch after we retired in 2009 and moved to Ontario, our paths never crossed. But his sisters always kept us up to date on his whereabouts and ministry.
We wish we could be there to give a listening ear and to offer more support but the timing and distance makes it impossible. I certainly will be watching the service live stream.
The journey of grief isn't always easy, but the Lord's strength and the support of family and friends helps to lighten the load, just to help you know you aren't alone.
What Ivan preached and lived for has now become his new reality. The Blessed Hope makes the reunion all more special now.
Praying for peace and strength in your journey ahead.
