It is with great sadness and broken hearts that the family of the Late Ivan Bennett announce his sudden passing at his home in Stanhope on Saturday, December 23, 2023 at the age of 63 years.

Ivan will be forever loved and remembered by his wife Eileen and their three children, Byron (Danielle), Krista and Katherine Bennett; two precious grandchildren, Hilary and Rachel; siblings, Junior (Theresa), Arthur (Juanita), Leonard (Brenda), Lorna (Ward) Verge, Joy (Mario) Lemieux, Vivian (Ward) Andrews, Florence (Ken) Drover, Louise (Luke) Thomas, Mildred (Harold) Short; brothers and sisters-in-law; father-in-law Roy Hodder.

He will be missed by his many nieces, nephews, other relatives, parishioners and colleagues and friends. He is predeceased by his parents Jack and Daisy Bennett, brother Bruce and his sister Violet Croucher and mother-in-law Maisie Hodder.

Pastor Bennett was a man of wisdom and knowledge and pastored in the following assembles; Goose Bay, Wild Cove, Port Aux Choix, Moreton’s Harbour, Ship Cove (GNP), North Harbour, Clarkes Beach, Stanhope and their most recent Cobb’s Arm.

During his early years he fished with his father and later became a mechanic by trade. He enjoyed being outdoors, playing musical instruments, doing carpentry work and fixing anything that was broken. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Arrangements have been placed in the care of Families Funeral Home, 9 Forward Drive, Lewisporte, where visitation will take place on Friday from 2-4pm and 7-9pm.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 30, 2023 at 1:00 pm from Philadelphia Pentecostal Tabernacle in Lewisporte.
