Evelyn Louise Quinton, age 82, of Lewisporte, Newfoundland, passed peacefully away on May 27, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Evelyn was born to Hazel (Tucker) Palmer and Pastor Andrew Palmer in Corner Brook, Newfoundland and Labrador on April 19, 1942. Left to mourn are her husband of 35 years, Wilson Quinton, sons Jeffrey (Bonnie) and Nolan (Dena); daughter Roxane (Trevor); stepdaughters Cynthia (Jaye), Beverley (Gordon), Debi (Rick) and Kimberly; sisters Muriel (Barry), Marie (Tony)and Brenda. (Paul); brothers Lloyd (Bonnie) and Ted (Susie); sisters-in-law Elena and Barbara. Her grandchildren Brienne, Laurissa, Quinton, Rebecca, Erin, Benjamin, Michelle, Candace, Samantha, Victoria, Andrew, Emily, Leah, Elena, and Amelia; great grandchildren Alexis, Ryker, Jackson, Kreedan, Keldan and Kayzia; as well as many nieces,nephews, other relatives and friends. Evelyn was the first born in her family and consistently set a godly example. She emphasized the importance of loving and honouring God and was a steadfast support to all who knew and loved her. Evelyn handled life’s challenges with courage, grace and acceptance. Though her physical presence is gone, her spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those she touched. Evelyn was predeceased by her first husband of 23 years, Harvey Hoddinott, her sister Sylvia and her two brothers, Alvin and Raymond. Visitation will take place on Friday, May 31, 2024 from 7:00-9:00pm at Families Funeral Home, 9 Forward Drive, Lewisporte, NL. A service celebrating Evelyn's Life will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2024 at 11:00am at Philadelphia Pentecostal Church 362, Main Street Lewisporte (Service will be live-streamed through Philadelphia Pentecostal Tabernacle Facebook page). Interment to follow at the Pentecostal Cemetery in Lewisporte. Flowers are accepted or donations may be made in her memory to Daffodil Place, St. John’s, NL.
